Job Fair at Buckelew Farm

Job interviews and actor auditions will be held at Buckelew Farm on Saturday, August 19, 2017 at 9:00am. All interested parties (except wheel barrow positions) must attend this meeting and bring two (2) forms of identification and at least one must be a photo ID (click here for a list of acceptable documents. Job positions cannot be offered if IDs are not available at the time of the interview/audition. All applicants are subject to background checks. If applying for Terror In The Corn or Security positions, please review the Employee Handbook prior to the job fair.

What Will Be Required Of Applicants?

Our employees MUST be punctual, dependable, co-operative, honest and want to help visitors have fun. These are the basics and we demand these qualities in order that we may best serve our customers. Every year we have more applicants than we can possibly hire. So if you can’t meet these “MUST” requirements, please do not apply, this job is not for you!

Day Time Positions

SetUp Weekends

Saturday and Sunday

Dates: 9/17 & 9/18 and 9/24 & 9/25

Hours: 8:00am – 4:00pm

SetUp Crew

Job Duties: general labor, hauling equipment, erecting tents, building fence, highway cleanup, housekeeping, decorating, staging haunted props, handyman and construction type tasks, etc.

Requirements: must be physically fit and have no activity restrictions.

Pay Rate: starting at $8.25 per hour. Interview required.


School Field Trips

Weekdays (Monday thru Friday)

Dates: 10/18-10/20, 10/23-10/27 and 10/30-10/31

Hours: 9:00am – 12:00 Noon

Tractor Drivers and Wagon Monitors

Job Duties: We use tractor-drawn wagons to take our customers to and from the pumpkin patch. We need tractor drivers and wagon monitors.

Requirements: Tractor drivers must have a current driver’s license and experience driving tractors, buses and/or trucks. Wagon monitors must be friendly, get along with children and adults and be good communicators using a PA system.

Pay Rate: ranging from $9.00 to $10.00 per hour. Interview required.


Pumpkin Festival

Weekends (Saturdays and Sundays)

Dates: 10/7 & 10/8, 10/14 & 10/15, 10/21 & 10/22, 10/28 & 10/29

Hours: 10:00am – 5:00pm

Buckelew Farm Support PersonnelSupport Personnel

Job Duties: a variety of positions are available including, Parking Attendant, Game Host, Dining Tent Attendant, Corn Cop, Zombie Paintball Attendant, Greeter, Kid Zone Attendant, Ticket Booth Attendant, Front Gate Attendant, Maintenance and Custodial.

Requirements: must be friendly, outgoing and be at least 14 years of age.

Pay Rate: starting at $8.25 per hour. Interview required.

Wheel BarrowerWheel Barrowers

Job Duties: using wheel barrels to assist customers in the transport of their pumpkins to the weigh tent and then to their cars.

Requirements: looking for kids who are friendly, outgoing, and strong enough to transport wheel barrels full of pumpkins throughout the day. Must be at least 12 years of age.

Pay Rate: work for tips; no wage is paid but customers are generally very generous tippers! The majority of our employees with paid positions started out pushing wheel barrows. Phone interview is required; call 822-2277.

NIGHT TIME POSITIONS

Corn Maze

Friday and Saturday Nights, Plus Special Events

Dates: 10/6 & 10/7, 10/13 & 10/14, 10/20 & 10/21, 10/27, 10/28 & 10/31

Hours: on Thursdays and Fridays 6:00pm – 12:00 midnight, on Saturdays 5:00pm – 12:00 midnight. Must be able to attend “all” scheduled activities

Corn Cops

Job Duties: “Corn Cops” supervise in the Corn Maze to assist customers who may be lost or have questions and to ensure that the maze rules are followed.

Requirements: must be physically fit and able to walk Corn Maze trails throughout the night, courteous but not afraid to enforce the rules and must be at least 18 years of age.

Pay Rate: starting at $9.00 per hour. Auditions required.

Special Events: Thursday 10/5 for Friends & Family Night (dress rehearsal; friends and family admission granted if on guest list only) and Tuesday, 10/31 for Halloween Night.


Terror In The Corn (Haunted Cornfield)

Friday and Saturday Nights, Plus Special Events

Dates: 10/6 & 10/7, 10/13 & 10/14, 10/20 & 10/21, 10/27, 10/28 & 10/31

Hours: on Thursdays and Fridays 6:00pm – 12:00 midnight. On Saturdays 5:00pm – 12:00 midnight. Must be able to attend “all” scheduled activities.

Buckelew Farm ActorsActors and Prop Activators

Job Duties: actors and prop activators need to be enthusiastic, energetic, outgoing, enjoy scaring people and are not afraid of performing for strangers.

Requirements: must be physically fit and be able to stay on task for the duration of the performances. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Pay Rate: starting at $8.25 per hour, plus bonuses for perfect attendance and hard work. Our best actors are having fun and getting paid for it! Auditions required.

Special Events: date for costume fitting to be announced, Thursday 10/5 for Friends & Family Night (dress rehearsal; friends and family admission granted if on guest list only), and Tuesday, 10/31 for Halloween Night.

Terror in the Corn Security PersonnelSecurity Personnel

Job Duties: must be able to maintain order, follow farm protocols and remove a customer quietly and discretely in the event that they are not following the rules or are engaging in unsafe behavior.

Requirements: security, law enforcement and/or military experience is preferred.

Pay Rate: starting at $10.00 per hour. Interview required.

Special Events: Thursday 10/5 for Friends & Family Night (dress rehearsal; friends and family admission granted if on guest list only), and Tuesday, 10/31 for Halloween Night.


Zombie Paintball Shootout

Friday and Saturday Nights, Plus Special Events

Dates: 10/6 & 10/7, 10/13 & 10/14, 10/20 & 10/21, 10/27, 10/28 & 10/31

Hours: on Thursdays and Fridays 6:00pm-12:00 midnight, on Saturdays 5:00pm-12:00 midnight. Must be able to attend “all” scheduled activities.

Buckelew Farm ZombiewZombie Paintball Attendant / Zombies

Job Duties: The Zombie Paintball Attendant is responsible for enhancing the FUN in a safe environment. They must be able to communicate with teenagers/adults and train them in the proper use of the guns. Zombies in the paintball field are the true stars that challenge the skill of shooter.

Requirements: The Attendant acts as a supervisor of the paintball area as well as the Zombie’s activities in the field. They are responsible for the paintball equipment and safety checks. Zombies must be physically fit and able to run between obstacles in the field for the duration of your shift. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Pay Rate: ranging from $8.25 to $10.00 per hour. Interviews required.

Special Events: Tuesday, 10/31 for Halloween Night.


Ticket Booth

Friday and Saturday Nights, Plus Special Events

Dates: 10/6 & 10/7, 10/13 & 10/14, 10/20 & 10/21, 10/27, 10/28 & 10/31

Hours: Thursdays and Fridays 6:00pm-12:00 midnight, on Saturdays 5:00pm-12:00 midnight.

Ticket Booth Attendant

Job Duties: This job requires GREAT customer service and enthusiasm. Must be able to explain to customers the ticket options available, rules, age requirements, Corn Maze games and the correct pricing of products.

Requirements: Must be able to make correct change quickly and accurately, operate the credit card machine independently, write a receipt and operate the on-line ticketing for pre-purchased tickets. Training will be provided.

Pay Rate: Ranging from $9.00 – $10.00 per hour. Interview required.

Special Events: Tuesday, 10/31 for Halloween Night.
